In this classic science fiction action movie, an alien comes down to Earth to hunt down humans. It is equipped with advanced technology which helps it to track and kill targets. The Predator utilises thermal vision to focus in on the humans it hunts. It also has a powerful laser cannon to dispatch them.
The film begins with a team of American soldiers undertaking a covert mission in a dense jungle. After destroying an enemy base, they find themselves being pursued by an invisible presence. This alien hunter picks off 
members of the team one by one.
Only towards the end of the story do the main characters realise they are dealing with an extraterrestrial. At first, they do not see it, thanks to an electrical field which gives the Predator a degree of invisibility.
Eventually one of the soldiers uses the alien’s thermal vision against it. He covers himself in mud so that his body heat will not be visible. He then sets up a trap using wooden spikes. He utilises gun powder to make a spear which explodes on impact. The climax pits two different hunters against each other. One is human, the other is an alien.
